Rites Held for H C Cook in Sioux City
Funeral services were held for Hiram C. Cook formerly of Mitchell who died in Sioux City after contracting pneumonia. He served as Davison county sheriff, lived in Mount Vernon, and left a rooming house career before his death. He was born March 1 1854 and died at age 63. He is survived by four brothers and a daughter, Mrs. J G Trotter of Mount Vernon. Governor Brumbaugh rejected extradition for Harry K Thaw to New York City while Thaw remains in a Philadelphia hospital after a suicide attempt.
