Young Ladies Lead Church Service Reflections on Christianity

Sunday evening at Congregational church Pastor Tomlin had the young ladies in charge, following a previous service by young men. Miss Nellie Stoughton spoke on what young women think of the Christian religion, praising Christianity for its support of women and urging its adoption as a life standard. Miss Eva Moulton discussed what young women owe to the church and contrasted past and present conditions for women, noting Christianity elevates women to equal rights. The program included organ, prayers, and a trio “Pleasant are Thy Courts,” with Miss Florence Gregory singing a sacred solo.
