Accidental Shooting During Duck Hunt Injures Student
Frank Van Tassell a University student suffered a gunshot wound to the right foot when a duck hunting cover mishap caused one barrel to discharge. He was taken to Dr Baker's office and the toe was removed. Ed Tanzy drove him to town and assisted afterward. Nels Jensen and family arrived with goods and cattle tolocate in the area.

Settlers Coming In to Yankton Area Employed Emigrant Trains
Emigrant and stock trains passed through Milwaukee yards with crews busy since Tuesday evening. A stock train from the south reached Bowdle and another to Chamberlain. A 15 emigrant car train bound for Carrington and Sykeston, North Dakota, originated near Redfield and Perry Iowa. A real estate backed colony shows Dakota movement. youths bound for Wolsey to attend school. boys travel with a rifle and bags.

Meanwhile two young boys slipped from a Milwaukee train and prompted a local police alert as they wandered the city seeking shelter and supper before returning home.
