Spanish War Veterans were Mitch ell's guests for a three day patriotism week. Six thousand people attended the picnics and encampment at the fairgrounds. Trains brought veterans from all directions, with reception committees guiding arrivals. The city organized quarters, transport, telephones, and a state band provided welcome music during the festivities.
Day session convened at 10 45 am with Gen Palmer in charge and committees appointed including Credentals and Memorial Services.
