Chicago. Calvin Demarest, a former national amateur billiard champion, stabbed his wife with a pocket knife and then slashed his own throat during a nervous breakdown. Demarest’s wife suffers serious injuries. his mother sustained a non fatal hand wound while trying to intervene. Demarest expected to recover.
