Status of the Artesian Well Contract Deal Accepted
The artesian well project, stalled for two weeks, prompted contractor dissatisfaction. The city council released Ley Bros from the original contract and agreed a new arrangement. Ley Bros will leave their plant but supply two men to operate, renting the city at $15 daily and providing everything except the pipe. The remaining workers are deemed competent to finish the well and are confident of success.

Contorting Here in Aberdeen News and Mitchell Rivalry
The Mitchell Republican accuses the Aberdeen News of misrepresenting a dispute between Earl Rogers of Mitchell and Clark Elliott of Aberdeen over ladder contest results. Rogers won first with 5 seconds. Elliott and Evans of Madison split second and third. Elliott did not seek first because of last year’s three consecutive wins and world ladder record of 5 seconds. Also notes Syrup of Iigs advertisement and Loyal Williams from Tobin reports crops look strong, wheat and oats heavy with lodging in spots.
