In En Paso Texas a stage ride between Savari and Santa Ana was assaulted by masked robbers. Adolf Gray a servant and two ladies were aboard. Gray died from wounds. the servant suffered a broken arm. the women were tied to the wheels. $2500 was taken. Two bandits were captured and hanged after a day passed before relief.
The Laflin and Rand powder mill in Wayne New Jersey blew up this morning from an unknown cause. The blast shattered windows for miles and damaged property estimated at 310000. Two employees Charles Tiere and John Caves were killed instantly and several others, including foreman J H Gardner, were slightly injured.
