Indian Charged With Forgery in Lamro Case
John Colombe a quarter blood Indian near Lamro was arrested for forgery on two counts by Boss Farmer Caton of Gregory county. In Fairfax he waived examination and was bound over to criminal court. Colombe, alleged to be an Indian notary public, signed tribesmen’s names and seals to deeds for lands without presence and sold the land. Special Inspector Ellis of Rosebud aided the case.
