Sale of the Cattle Good in Mitchell Draws Huge Crowd
The South Dakota Improved Live Stock Association cattle sale at the stock pavilion drew over 2,000 attendees. Twenty two head of cattle sold for a total of 5670 dollars with Herefords leading the bids at 82 dollars per head and Aberdeen Angus averaging around 100 dollars. Shorthorns posted strong averages but slightly lower totals, and buyers from Mitchell and nearby towns dominated purchases. The event concluded with a banquet and Knights Templar reflections, and plans hinted at a summer sale at the state fairgrounds in Huron.

Want Column Ad Catches reader’s Search for Lost Items
A humorous note reflects on want ads in the classifieds as a request system that often fails to locate sought items. It suggests irregular success in matching buyers with sellers and the stubborn reality of misplaced objects.
