City Council Adopts Officers Reports and Reorganizes Fire Dept

Mitchell city council met with Mayor Silsby presiding. Minutes were approved and officers’ reports adopted. Treasurer Kiboce cited fund balances and Weighmaster McDonald reported January receipts and ice weights. Six cases before Justice McKinley yielded $100 in fines, $14.10 in fees. Ordinance No. 172 to place the fire department under council control passed on second reading. John L. Nelson named city engineer for sewer survey work. Hitching posts removal discussed amid farmer trade concerns. Meeting adjourned.
