In Silk Point South Dakota on January 30 M W Mess ex a farmer near Jefferson was arrested after allegedly shooting his son Martin in the arm during a dispute over wages. The wounded son, about 20, swore out the complaint and Mess ex was jailed at five o'clock. Police found three revolvers at the house and the father had threatened the family previously including an attempted killing of his wife three days earlier. The son carried life insurance for three thousand dollars with Modern Woodmen.
