Supremes Uphold Davison County Burglary Conviction
South Dakota Supreme Court on Saturday affirmed the Davison county trial court verdict in the burglary case against Harry Wilson of Mt. Vernon. Wilson, found guilty in Mitchell last spring, was sentenced to two and a half years in the state penitentiary for entering Olson Asmussen hardware on December 22, 1914 with intent to steal. The court ruled the information sufficient despite missing owners’ names. In a separate ruling, the court reversed a $3,000 alienation of affections award to John Maiden against James Hood from a 1912 Davison county trial, a case that drew regional interest.
