Five O Clock Tea Highlights Social Week in Society Circles
Last Friday afternoon Jean Decker a former resident traveled the plains in early days while a government pension inspector paid an official visit to soldiers nearby. Mrs Emil Becker hosted a five o clock tea for her lady friends with a progress word puzzle contest awarding two prizes. Mrs J M Wood and Mrs S F Goodykoontz won the head and foot prizes. The rooms featured chrysanthemum and carnation decorations and refreshments followed a tempting menu. New Rule for Canceling Revenue Stamps Reduces Fraud
The government issues a circular on canceling ten cent or larger documentary stamps. It requires the user to write their name and date and mutilate the stamp by three parallel cuts lengthwise, unless already cancelled by existing regulations.
