W H Helwig is named receiver to wind up the company affairs as the Dakota Fire and Marine Insurance Co ends years of hardship and ceases operations.

Prohibition Union Plans for Constitutional Prohibition

The Non-Partisan Prohibition Union meets to evolve a plan backing constitutional prohibition. Dakota fire and Marine Insurance Co. appoints W. H. Helwig as receiver at 4 PM, following Joseph Harker's request to Judge Haney. Liabilities size about 40,000 dollars and assets include notes and judgments. Beede has invested about 40,000 cash, Stearns reports about 35,000 in losses. Helwig aims to clean up the business within a year. Beede and Stearns return to Hampton, Iowa.

Prohibition Union Executive Session Guides Campaign

The Executive Committee of the Non artisan Prohibition Union of South Dakota met in Sioux City to plan action for constitutional prohibition enforcement. Leaders Carhart Huntley and Mrs Lula Ramsey outlined aims to unite opponents of saloon culture and push for school instruction on alcohol effects. The group emphasized earnest work and a broad, conscience driven campaign.
