A Cincinnati and Muskingum Valley line train rear ended a Cleveland division train on a single track near Trinway Zanesville. The impact demolished the rear coach, killing eleven aboard and injuring others. fire and scalding followed as escaping steam caused five fatal injuries. Among the dead and identified: Mrs. Rr. A.
