Populist Convention Adopts Platform and Nominates Ticket
The Populist county convention held Saturday elected J. N. Brokaw as chairman with Geo. F. Allen as secretary. Delegates debated credentials and resolutions, seating Colvin’s ward slate, endorsing Omaha and state platforms, and pledging candidates to tax reforms and clerical reductions. Nominees for state senator included Saul, Warne, Colvin, and Schlood. sheriff and other posts were chosen by ballots, with several acclamations for county officers and school superintendent.
