Washington Aug 29 The American Red Cross reports membership has reached 3,500,000 and grows by 25,000 to 100,000 daily. At year start the total stood at 275,000.
Four farmers from Lane South Dakota were jailed after being found with a half gallon of whiskey. W A Welzel Eh Wag ner Fred Tappen and Bert Swenson were arrested near the Gorn Palace by Officers Garstensely and Skirkpatrick. The group had traveled to repair a threshing machine separator and claimed the liquor came from a farmer south of Lane. The case will go to hearing tomorrow in the city hall police court.
