Fullerton Wins Again as Mayor Re-election Voted

Fullerton is re-elected mayor by a strong majority over Warne in a citywide election marked by sharp lines on reform and license issues. Mitchell voters backed Fullerton for mayor by 339 to 253 amid a lower turnout and a major bar on liquor sales passing 328 to 267. Aldermen changes included Potter defeating Johnston, Beckwith defeating Hall, and Burnside beating McKeel. licensing stayed contentious but narrowly approved. Eastern Star Banquet Charms Mitchell Chapter Members

The Mitchell Eastern Star chapter hosted a social banquet after initiation of five candidates. A long 65 seat table was set with lavish foods, followed by lodge room dancing and two vocal selections by Mrs S H Scallin. Six new applications were read, hinting the chapter may soon reach one hundred members.
