In Memoriam Bertha Hunt Died at 16 near Mitchell Wis
Bertha Hunt daughter of Nicholas and Mrs Hunt died April 2 1902 at her parents home near Mitchell Wisconsin aged sixteen. She was born in Gratiot Wis and moved with her family to South Dakota two years ago. Remains were taken to Shellsburg Wis for interment beside relatives. funeral at Catholic church conducted by Father Shea. She leaves parents a brother John and three sisters. A. Friend.

Bicycle Road Race and Recital Highlights From Tyler Township
The last Saturday afternoon featured a winning bicycle road race won by Hough a scratch man and a successful flag raising at Tyler School House in Prosper Township. The Lardner recital drew a large Methodist church audience with Prof Lardner of the University elocution department delivering varied selections including The Great Grey Ships and Old Glory with notable support from Miss Myrtle Lee Miss Florence Gregory and Fred Kratz. The crowd praised his range in dialect comedy and dramatic readings and the performers received hearty appreciation.

Five mile course race with handicaps at river bend
A five mile race concluded near the river with riders Wallace Older and Sinnamon set back by 90 seconds, Parshall and Paterson 30 seconds, Hough scratch. Hough won in 18 minutes 50 seconds, Parshall 18:52, Adams 20:10, Patterson 20:30. Sinnamon Wallace Older finished in that order despite a strong westerly wind and a long hill on the return.

Flag Unfurled Over Tyler School House
The Tyler school in Prosper township dedicated an American flag on a new pole in a large outdoor ceremony attended by six nearby schools. Cathout the teacher presented the flag, Eskel Carlson accepted it, and Superintendent Coursey raised it. Henry Hendrickson and F C Hoffman spoke on the occasion.
