Rev. Harry Gunderson, long time chair of English and History at Sioux Falls college, is elected pastor of the First Baptist church at Lead City South Dakota. His Sioux Falls ministry will continue until June 1 with Rev. M J Sigler supplying the pulpit. Gunderson, formerly Mitchell resident and Rapid City pastor, won unanimous support from about fifty applicants.

Land auction in Blendon township draws fierce bids
At a land auction this afternoon the state offered a quarter section in Blendon township with a minimum lease price of 15 cents per acre. Oscar Nicholson and Elijah Tillotson vied for the fourth quarter as Nicholson already held three. Bids rose from 15 cents to 49 cents per acre before Nicholson secured the parcel.
