Easter Day Observed Across City Churches

Churches across the city celebrated Easter with High Mass at the Catholic church and services at St. Marys Episcopal, St. Bernards Commandery, Congregational, Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, Free Methodist, and German Evangelical churches. Choirs, special music, and sermons highlighted the day, with baptisms at St. Bernards and missions topics discussed by the Woman's Foreign Missionary Society.

Old University Case Opens in Chamber Trial

Judge Smith hears suit by the Dakota University and College Alliance against the Organized University company seeking return of land value once owned by the alliance. Rev. Tooke of Rockford Illinois files the case with Mrs. Tooke present as witness. Preston Hannett and Thos. Clendenning lead the college alliance defense.

Second Grand Gold Medal Contest Held at Congregational Church

The city hosted the second grand gold medal contest at the Congregational church with a strong turnout. Winners included Mrs. W. F. Bancroft first, Walter Seaman second, Philip Moulton third, and Frank Marshall fourth, with Mrs. Bancroft receiving the grand gold medal. The event featured recitations by Delia Spooner and musical numbers by Virgil Boyles and L. D. Milne, and was presided by Mrs. A. J. Lockhart and Miss Coman. The next contest is scheduled for Monday, April 11.

Miss Lilah Older Wins Grand Medal at Wessington Springs

In Wessington Springs a grand gold medal contest featured Lilah Older Delia Spooner Walter Seaman and Mrs Bancroft Philip Moulton and Frank Marshall. Older won narrowly over Spooner who placed second. Older scored 48 2 3 to Spooner 48 1 3 on a 50 point basis.
