Mitchell City Council Calls $3000 in Bonds and Sets Election
Mitchell South Dakota city council met with full attendance and ordered $3000 of outstanding bonds called paid. An ordinance changing fire limits in the business district was introduced. A liquor question to be voted at the April 17 election was placed on the ballot. Weigher Neilson reported $395.50 in scales receipts. treasurer showed $5,775.29 remains.

A Sunday audience heard a concert by the Women’s Foreign Missionary society raising 6244 for India famine relief. The program featured solos, quartets, a mandolin solo, and anthems with Mrs Tomlin and Miss Becker in lead roles. Farmers report an extraordinary wild goose shot by Wil Gilfillan, a 7 ft 8 in wing span 18 pound bird.

Omaha Road Accident Leaves Brakeman Gill Amputated
A brakeman on the Omaha line, A. W. Gill of Sioux Falls, had his foot crushed and part of his leg amputated after a Norwegian switch accident at 11 15 Tuesday. The engine crushed the end of the car, trapping Gill for 30 minutes before jackscrews freed him. He was transported to Dr. Bebb in Sioux Falls for amputation.
