Baptist Sinister Harris Charged for Murder Preaches Funeral
Spartanburg S C April 1 Thomas Hart a young ex Baptist preacher was hanged in the jail yard at Gaffney S C today for the murder of Mrs Hortense Morgan an aged white woman last November. Before the black cap was adjusted Harris preached his own funeral sermon. He killed Mrs Morgan by cutting her throat after which he took 300 from her clothes. Harris narrowly escaped being lynched at the time of his arrest.
