Ben Ehraman died at his Neelyville home on Friday October 3 after a summer long illness. He was 24 years old and formerly lived in Waverly. He leaves his parents and siblings in mourning. The community offers sympathy during this time of bereavement as a verse memorial laments the vacant place left in the family home.
M F Roberts a respected farmer seven miles south of Slater died last Sunday after several weeks illness. Funeral held Tuesday at 10 a m with W F Roberts officiating. Interred at Miss Creek cemetery. Born January 24 1862 in Nelson county Virginia he came to this county at age five and remained. Survived by his father J W Roberts sister Miss Leolai Roberts and one brother. A man of industrious and honorable character in the community.
Mrs. L. Bullard, wife of Ghs Bo Bellard and a 1840 Kentucky winner of bors, died Sunday October 1 at her Moorehall home near Hazel Grove. She moved to Missouri as a child with George and Martha Bowler, lived a Christian life, and raised eight children with thirty four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services were held October 6 at Hazel Grove, conducted by Revs. Sure and Mounts.
Henry Walker age 28 son of Charity Walker of the city died Friday morning in Kansas City of heart trouble. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Free Will Baptist church conducted by Rev B Turner. Burial at Fairview cemetery with rites by the Colored Knights of Pythias. Survivors include his mother several brothers and sisters. J M Walker led funeral arrangements.
Andrew Ransberger 79, formerly of Marshall for four decades, died in St Louis on Tuesday October 7 at 4 10 p m after a lingering illness. Survived by wife Laura Neeley of Cape Girardeau three sons Frank of St Louis Ernest and Lester of this city five brothers T J J Q B F and Adolphus Ransberger and two sisters Mrs R W Cowan and Mrs George Purcell. Remains brought to Marshall Thursday and burial at Ridge Park cemetery on the Ransberger lot. He was regarded as a man of amiable character and was beloved by all who knew him.

J A Whitt the Mt Leonard merchant announces closing his Saline shop to relocate to Kansas City. He has built a solid business and earned many friends during his time in Saline.
Breathitt Sappington, a Nelson merchant, and Miss Virginia Thorp of Nelson were married at the state fair last Thursday. They will reside in Nelson where they are well and favorably known.
Arm strong died Wednesday at 12 40 pm at his home 66 West Arrow after months of declining health and near continuous unconsciousness. Survived by wife Mine Zola Conway and a daughter the funeral was held Thursday at 2 pm with Bro B T Wharton in charge and FP M Walker arranging. Burial followed at Ridge Park cemetery.

Fred A. Lamberton of Kansas City salesman for Richard Conover hardware wed Mika Nellie Mati of Kane City in Independence Missouri on Saturday October 4 at 1 a.m. The marriage surprised Mise Rotts and was planned after a telephone message from a friend. The couple visited Marshall before returning to Kansas City for parental blessings amid earlier objections to the youth of the bride and groom. Best wishes for a happy life were sent by local friends.
Robert Surridge of Walnut Ridge Ark and Mise Ida Sparks daughter of Mr and Mrs Henry C Sparta were united in marriage at the bride’s home Thursday evening October 2 Rev J K officiating minister. The bride’s parents were formerly of Balmer county and her father was a stockman hero for years. Mrs Sparks is a daughter of John G Long and Mrs A J Graven of the city.
Nembier Swinney Aug Nhemeter and Miss Kate Swi ney of Hardeman wed at Hoonville on Monday of last week and traveled to the state fair. On returning they visited the bride’s father Clark's home. Bwinney will live in Marshall temporarily. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Miem ber of this city. The couple are among the best young people and receive hearty congratulations and best wishes.
The Ep Y P A of Fish Creek church will host a fellowship supper at the home of Mr. Harry R. Johnson, 1 1/2 miles southeast of the church, on Saturday night, October 1. Everyone is invited to attend.
The Blach Hook Route marks October 15 as good road day with preparations on the Marshall to Shackelford to Mt Leonard corridor. West of Shackelford neighbors unite for work on October 16, with Joseph Hamill Blackelford promising rock and sand and culvert work to ready by the 15th. Marshall road district urged to coordinate across districts to ensure equal attention to both sides.
John Adams son of Mer and Mrs John Adams Sr wed Miss Jennie Barton daughter of C W Barton in a Marshall area ceremony conducted by Father O Neill. The couple went to Mr Barton's for a reception. Also Rev M Denny officiated a September 16 ceremony for Booker Wie and Mabel Turk at the Turk family home in Malta Bend.
Mr and Mrs John Adams hosted about seventy five guests to celebrate the marriages of John Adams Jr and Clarence Pavia Jr on Thursday. Attendees included Mr Michael Brown and Mrs Margaret Adams along with other relatives. In the afternoon Kodak portraits captured four generations of the Adams family.
