Death of Mrs Gertrude Payne in St Louis 1911
Mrs Gertrude Payne wife of Joseph Payne died at home in St Louis on May 15 1911 aged 29 born near Miami in 1882 married to Joe Payne in 1902 they lived in St Louis for years and started a family. She leaves a six year old son her parents Mr and Mrs Walter Hawkins near Miami a brother Dr George Hawkins of New York and a sister Mrs Julian Jessup of Miami. Kidney disease caused her death after years of frail health. She was a devoted Christian and Baptist church member teaching Sunday School and serving as a musician.

Mrs Lizzie Harris daughter of Mrs Maggie Dawson died in Kansas City Missouri on May 20 1911 from heart failure. Her remains were brought to Marshall for burial Tuesday with funeral services led by Rev RE Burnett of Mt Calvary Free Baptist. She was one year old and mourners placed flowers at her grave.

Lost Comrade Jos H Reynolds Mian Township at Confederate Reunion
At a Confederate reunion in Littl Rock last week Mian township men Mowers Reynolds and Ute returned Friday without Mr. Vaughn who went missing near Jefferson City. A conductor seized Vaughn’s coat and vest containing his ticket and sent the train on while Ute recovered his coat later. Vaughn rejoined the party Saturday morning after recovering his belongings at Boonville.
