Two deaths reported in Marshall area from a high speed auto collision near Malta Bend. Henry Blomer, age 41, killed. his wife and family mourn the loss as the wreck prompts funeral plans at Malta Bend Christian church. Also, county assessor J. Anderson Johnson dies after long illness, leaving wife and two children. Funeral services noted with Masonic and religious rites.
Thomas G. Pittard was killed at Lorimer Iowa on April 36 when a fragment from an emery wheel burst and struck him in the breast. His remains were brought to the family.
Calvin Snoddy died of cancer at his home three miles northwest of town on Monday April 2, aged 64. He had long suffered illness and was confined to his room for nearly a year. Survived by wife and one son Calvin Jr. A Presbyterian, he was described as a good man. Funeral by Rev. McCane of Lee's Summit at the residence after noon, burial at Park. Pallbearers were six nephews.
ETHELBERT D THOMPSON the four year old daughter of Mr and Mrs W C Thompson of West Morgan died Tuesday April 30 1912 from hepatitis aged 4 years 3 months and 11 days The child had never been strong and was called to a better land where sickness and pain are no more Her remains were taken to Ridge Park Cemetery after services at the home Wednesday morning.
Mrs Robt Reynolds of Kansas City died April 30 after months of illness. She was sister of John Reynolds formerly of Cooper county and maiden name Kate Bridgewater. Survived by husband and many children. remains brought to Nelson and buried in Nelson cemetery. Dan Campbell prominent Clay township resident died at home seven miles southeast of Slater on Sunday after a brief illness aged two years and five days. funeral held at Fish Creek Baptist church conducted by Rev J N Winn.
Mrs. Hutson, wife of I P Hateon, aged 33, died at her parents home Mr and Mrs M D Powell about a mile north of Gilliam on Friday April 10. The service was conducted by Rev J Edwin.
Mrs Edmonia Jamison died suddenly at her home on South Lafayette at 3 a.m. Saturday of heart failure. She was eight years old and had lived in Arrow Rock for five years with her husband, who died four years earlier at their former home. The family had resided on the Lafayette place for years.
Funeral services were led by Rev A R Faria at the residence on Sunday afternoon with a short graveside service at Rock cemetery on Monday. Survived by son M A Jamison of Sapulpa Oklahoma and daughter Mrs A J Davin of Hardeman both arriving in Marshall for the services.
Mrs Sarah Carroll Davis 66 wife of Thomas Davis died at home on East Yerby Tuesday evening after a sudden illness. She had been visiting neighbors Elias Redman’s that evening and felt sick on the porch before dying within minutes. Funeral services were held at the First Presbyterian church yesterday at 2:30 PM conducted by Rev. McCain.
Mrs Lettie Wright wife of Phillip Q Wright a prominent colored farmer of Napton died suddenly of dropsy Tuesday She was active in church and social work among her people and was highly respected Her remains were laid to rest in the colored cemetery near Napton Wednesday
Boonville won the annual school debate held Monday evening. Marshall was represented by Leon Snyder and Raymond Downs while Boonville's team included E. Coram and Floyd Crear. Debaters wore short pants. Boonville supporters arrived on a special train. Judges were Prof. Van Cleaver of Columbia, Rev. B. T. Wharton of Marshall, and a Boonville attorney.

Prominent temperate orators spoke at Marshall and Slater pulpits Sunday. Next Sunday morning First Baptist sermons titled Paul’s Conversion and Falsifying Facts are planned with special music.
Among the sickness news G R Smith went to Platteburg Sunday due to the serious illness of sister Mrs Geo W Brown. Miss Rosas Richter showed slight improvement after several days of confinement this week.
