Mrs Elizabeth Rawlings Dies At Home In Gilliam
Mrs Elizabeth Rawlings aged 87 died at her Gilliam home on Thursday March 10 after a long illness. She is survived by a daughter Mrs Lackland at home and a son in the West. Services were held at the residence Saturday afternoon and burial followed at Wolfskill cemetery. The Malta Bend note records the funeral of little Mary Ellen Houston, two years two months, daughter of Mr and Mrs S P Houston. She died of pneumonia after a recent illness and was laid to rest at the MBE Church in Malta Bend, with Rev Carter officiating. The loss touched many in the community.

John Winston obituary after 8 years 10 months of age
John Winston of Kenton county Kentucky died March 11 1910 at his son Boon Winston’s home near New Frankfort after a long illness. He was 8 years 10 months and 24 days old at death a misprint likely. He married Elizabeth Fowler October 18 1844 and they had six children five boys and one girl. He joined the Methodist church south and remained a faithful member at Slater for sixty years. He moved to this county in 1867 and lived nearby until death. The funeral was followed by burial in Slater cemetery.
