Marshall Citizen Shot in Ambush Near Home
George Lytchliter, a farmer eight miles south of Marshall, was badly wounded by gunshots in an ambush Friday evening March 7 as he returned from Marshall. He identified suspect John Davenport, a neighbor, as his attacker then fled toward Henry Jacoby’s farm for aid. Davenport was arrested on bond, with a preliminary hearing set for March 21. Lytchliter’s condition listed as steadily improving.
