Land sale notice offering improved and unimproved acreage in Southern Texas Indian Territory and the Texas Panhandle from 10 to 40 dollars per acre. Buyers may view lands on the first or third Tuesday monthly with round trip tickets under 20 dollars. Also salines County farms for sale and 5 percent money for buyers.
A sequence of obituaries and death notices recounts Edwin Crockett of Coeur d Allegne Idaho aged 78, Mrs. Frederick J. Weber of Kansas City, a Buline City resident, a retired jeweler Mr. Tiemeyer aged 75, Mrs. Baker aged 80, a Virginia native Presbyterian, Grace Smithey one year old, and a Mt. Leonard infant among others. Funeral details span several churches and cemeteries, with various survivors listed. Also notices an offer to sell 119 acres near Salt Springs, Marshall by Milton Alison and Chas Brown, under firm terms.
Frank Hodges and Roy Porter escaped the county jail last week by digging through a hole in a defective iron floor to the basement. A new iron floor has been installed to prevent recurrence.
A Sunday mission rally at the First M. E. Church raised a total of 5000 with the men's class winning the banner by contributing 22.75 while the ladies class added only 7 cents. The Brotherhood of St. Paul was organized Tuesday night and the Junior League was reorganized Sunday afternoon. Miss Lucile Hawthorne will host her Sunday Leavol class tonight. The First M. B. Church ladies plan a Market Wise sale all day Saturday March Vith in the south squire storefront recently vacated by Peecher & Crockett offering flame bread rolls dressed chicken salads cakes and candies for Sunday dinner.
The meeting decided to install meters throughout the city on all water pipes with contracts to be made March 12. Hitching racks will be removed from Morgan Street between Odell and Lafayette. D C Hammond gains permission to erect an iron building for his Lombstone business on Vicdor lot behind Myers and Bell on East North Street.
C R Shellenger and Miss Ida L Paonel both of Marshall were married at the residence of Rev Wm P Luce on West North Street Sunday evening at 6 30 Rev Luce officiating.
Clarence HL Tucker, the Slater clothier, announces opening a new clothing and furnishing goods store in Glasgow Missouri. The store aims to serve Central Missouri customers and invites locals to visit to see what the new firm can offer.
A late 81st birthday celebration for Mrs J M Huff was held on Mareb drd when her children and grandchildren staged a surprise party. The event marked eighty one years of life in a warm family gathering.
