Chappell Pioneer of Saline Dies at 60
John E. Chappell of near the Colony died Sunday morning February 24 after a long illness at age 60. He was born in Saline in 1848 and married Emeline Odell in 1860. she predeceased him in 1902. Surviving daughter Mrs. W. G. Woodsmall and three others live afar. son Thomas resided with him. The Chappell family were Saline pioneers. The Miami area also reports the death of Mrs. Guthrie, age 30, at her daughter’s home, with funeral at Miami Monday.
