Mrs. Geo Shull died at her home near Cretcher Tuesday evening from childbirth complications leaving eight children in reduced circumstances. Funeral at V Providence church Wednesday at 4 pm. William Finnell, longtime resident, died in Armstrong on May 8 after a stay at the Masonic Home in St Louis. He left Marshall area a month earlier and visited relatives in Armstrong. several sons reside in Oklahoma. His wife passed away in Marshall last August.

Francis Scott Dies of Marasmus at Age 7 in Colony
Francis Scott, a patient at the Colony, died yesterday at 4 a.m. of marasmus, aged 7 years 4 months 3 days. His remains were sent by Undertaker Walker to his home in Carrollton for burial. The boy's parents are cousins of Mrs. Dan Robertson of this city.

Slater Public Lot Sale Draws Big Crowd
A large crowd attended the Slater public sale on Tuesday afternoon led by Mr Henry and assistants. The Henry Addition lies west of the new high school, attracting buyers from the residence area. A $10 gold piece was raffled first, won by Miss Velma Means. Lot prices ranged from 150 to 65 dollars, totaling about 9000 dollars with lots sold at about one per minute. A second drawing awarded a free lot to Miss Velma Gwinn of Slater, drawn from a number abandoned by a country visitor who left before the sale ended. A Row of Yard Luck: Fred Ludwig’s Lightning Losses
Fred Ludwig of five and a half miles east of Marshall reported that in Wednesday’s storm lightning killed two of his good mules near a barbed wire fence. The fence melted in three spots and surrounding weeds were scorched. He also lost a yearling heifer to suffocation in a straw stack and injured his left thumb, which is improving.
