Ellen Elizabeth Bacon, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas B Bacon, died Tuesday morning from stomach complaint. Funeral Wednesday at 10 a m with remains in Ridge Park cemetery. James Huston Campbell, Marshall painter, died Tuesday July 24 at 1 39 pm of consumption, age 55 years 4 months 10 days. Funeral Wednesday at First M E Church conducted by Revs Shepherd and Russell. Campbell, who moved to Marshall 30 years ago, married Nancy J. Thomas in 1878. survived by three brothers.

Drowning of Nelson Pastor at Pertle Springs
Rev. Rogers, 26, pastor of the Baptist Church at Nelson, drowned Wednesday afternoon while bathing at Pertle Springs. Seen struggling near the lake center, he sank before help arrived. body recovered by Rev. W. C. Coleman of Warrensburg. A 1905 William Jewell College graduate, he was raised in Santa Fe, Monroe County.
