Lamkin Dies as Bank Vice President After Long Service

A local bank announces the death of vice president John C. Lamkin after 24 years of service including roles as teller cashier and interim vice president. He was a respected board member for over two decades noted for integrity and devotion to family and community. A second item describes a fire causing loss of 1825 bushels of corn valued at 900 to 1000 dollars and 46 acre meadow burn, with 6000 bushels saved and thanks given to volunteers.

Poultry Market Preachers Two Christian Science Sundays

The pastor of the Baptist church of Marshall will preach two sermons on Christian Science Sunday August 17 at 11 a m and the following Sunday at 11 a m. The first sermon covers the teaching known as Christian Science and the second the belief that follows from it. Invites are extended to those who wish to attend.

Saline County Fair Tackled in Show Rings and Poultry

Saline County Fair highlights included awards across cattle under three and older categories, yearling and best male divisions, and best mule classes led by John Barr and Emmett Barr. Poultry results featured Barred Plymouth Rocks, Leghorns, and White Wyandottes with top placements for Miss Roma Fleet, Mrs. J. P. Tracy, and Mra. 8. W. Wilhelm, among others, plus premium notices for butter and baked goods and a note that gate admission is free after 6 PM for the remainder of the week.

Annual Meeting of Sappington School Fund Trustees

The 1913 annual meeting of the Sappington school fund board was held at Wood & Huston Bank on August 11 with C G Page as president and G W Lankford as secretary. The fund has paid out $102,741.62 for tuition since 1857 and the principal plus accumulations now total $71,826.95.

Obituary for Eva Lee Maddox of Napton

Eva Lee Maddox aged twelve years ten months eleven days died July 31 at the home of her parents near Napton. Funeral by Rev. Price at the Napton Baptist church, burial in the local cemetery. Survived by father, mother, three sisters and a little brother. Pallbearers were schoolmates John Thorp, Boyd Hanten, Cecil Heckman, Truman Campbell, Philip and George Smith. Ludwigs Host Sunday Dinner For Victoria Vog

Roberts Seeks Wife After Rural Rattler Incident

BR. B. Roberts frets over his wife who fled to Kansas City on the early train Friday. They were near the yard when a prairie rattler appeared, was killed, and the family fears she may remain away several weeks before returning to Marshall.

Girl Slain Near Potter Farm In Lexington Missouri

A 14 year old girl Ra pane Potter was found murdered near her hut in Lexington Missouri. A young farmhand Goldie Wakefield is suspected and armed posses seek him amid fear of lynching. Law dogs are sought to trail the killer as bands of citizens search the area.
