Farm Notes Warn Warble Control After Harvest

Miniota Teams Compete In Volleyball And Cross Country

Miniota hosted a Friday volleyball match with St. Lazare, Miniota winning 2-1 after 15-10, 18-16, 15-11 scores. A Tuesday match against Foxwarren saw Foxwarren win 2-1, scores 15-6, 15-12, 16-14. On Wednesday Miniota sent two boys teams and one girls team to Birtle cross country. Team 1 won the two-mile race led by Glen Wadham in 11 minutes, with 39 points. Team 2 placed fourth, and the girls team also finished fourth with 84 points.

Mr and Mrs Moss Fraser of Winnipeg called on Mrs Robertson last Sunday. Visiting with Mrs Bardwell were Mr and Mrs Curtis from Birtle and Mr and Mrs A Armitage plus Catherine Armitage. Mrs Morris visited with her son and daughter in law Mr and Mrs Arthur Morris on Sunday. Visitors to Mrs Gardham included Mr and Mrs Paul Rocan of Virden H Gardham of Arrow River and Mr and Mrs Con Orr of Foxwarren. Winnipeg guests visited several residents and attended the wedding of Leland and Nykoliation at Miniota. Cliff Shurwell of Sioux Lookout and great granddaughter Cathy Bruce of Winnipeg spent the weekend at Mrs Campbell's.

The October meeting hosted by Mrs. Ray Still featured a Beef or Bouquet roll call on Education. Mrs. Art Heise spoke on Arctic oil information. A W.L. C.G.LT. Reorganizes Meeting at United Church

At a September 29 gathering in the United Church the C.G.LT. reorganized with a purpose recital and the group song. Explorers graduates Brenda Outhwaite Olive Ann Argue and Marjorie Gurr received E pins. New officers were President Shirley Armitage Vice President Helen Wythe Secretary Dianne Argue Treasurer Irene Horner Reporter Gerrie Taylor.

Bridge Club Meet at Jean Cook's Home

The Ladies' Bridge Club met at Jean Cook's home with eight members present. After four rounds, Mrs Blaich won and Kay Armitage took the consolation. Lunch was served. the next meeting is October 28 at Muriel Armitages at 7 45 p.m. Notify the hostess if attending.

Explorers Reorganize Meeting At Holy Trinity Church

The Explorer Group re organized on September 29 at Holy Trinity Church. Officers named Big Chief Debbie McKean Little Chief Dorinda Stamford Keeper of the Log Linda Watters Keeper of the Treasurer Patti Gil christ. Leaders named Mrs F Watters Mrs M McKenzie and Mrs S Taylor. Sunday school attendance bars awarded to Myrna Hodgins and Cindy Pierce.
