Wilma Leota Athliea and Edward Price wed at Holy Trinity Anglican Church on October 2. Officiant Rev. John Pilling, music by Mrs. C. B. Watts. The bride wore a white satin gown with rose applique and a pearl tiara. bouquet of red roses. Guests traveled from Winnipeg Moosehorn Miston Hamiota and Manson.

Appointment of Cliff Braden as Operating Supervisor

Toews Named Lawyer in Charge of Hamiota Office

Mr. Toews leads Coak and Company in Hamiota as of October 1 1965. He previously worked for Manitoba’s Attorney General Department and served with the RCMP across the Prairies. A University of Manitoba law graduate, he is married with three children and resides in Virden. Mrs Toews is a former Melville TCA stewardess before her marriage.

Dr Lansdown Retires After 21 Years as Public Health Lab Director

The Honorable C H Witney announces the retirement of Dr Leslie P Lansdown as Director of the Fred T Cadham Laboratory effective September 30 1965. Lansdown, born 1900 in Surrey England, served 21 years in the Manitoba Public Health Laboratory and will remain as a part time consultant. He has a medical degree from Manitoba and a public health diploma from Toronto. He is active in life shooting and waterfowl hunting.

Wilda Lockhart Dies in Quiet Community Tribute

A stricken community mourns Wilda Lockhart with a funeral service led by Rev. Ken Murdoch. The combined Arrow River and Miniota choirs sang How Great Thou Art as floral tributes carried messages of sympathy for the Lockhart families.

Isabella News People Move Homes and Week End Visits

Mr and Mrs Harry Levins moved their built home from Isabella to Foxwarren via a move by Fenty of Hamiota. Numerous local residents attended weekend visits and gatherings including Winnipeg visitors and weddings. Community sympathy extended to families in Arrow River and Miniota, with notes of church events and social visits across Isabella and surrounding areas.
