Miniota Rural Council Minutes Move to Adopt October General Session

Council minutes from the Sth of October were adopted. The secretary filed notices from multiple departments and agencies including F Lawson and Sons, Public Works, Health, Brandon General Hospital, Agriculture, Mines and Natural Resources, and others. They approved several street lighting installations, budget resolutions, by laws, and a plan for elderly accommodation funding, with cheques approved for September and October. The meeting adjourned after routine business and adjournment.

Variety Concert Draws Overflow Crowd at Miniota Collegiate

An overflowing audience attended a Saturday variety concert at Miniota Collegiate auditorium with Rev. K. Murdoch as M C. Local groups from Arrow River Crandall Isabella Two Creeks Kenton Miniota and more contributed performances including a humorous Hollywood Fashion Show. Proceeds of 210.58 benefited the New Rink fund.

Holy Trinity W A met at Mrs Chris Elleringtons with eight members. They planned a Bazaar Tea and Home Cooking Sale for Friday November 26. Monitors were named for winter church cleaning. Treasurer Bud Barrett reported 54.97 in bank. Annual Meeting set for December 6 at Mrs Coke Argues home.

Miniota Explorers met at Holy Trinity Church on Wednesday evening November 10 for initiation and star presentation. First year girls received membership certificates explorer pictures and pins as proof of meeting exploration requirements. Mothers attended and games and lunch followed.

The Miniota Calf Club held its 1965 66 organization meeting at the Armitages with 3 new members increasing total to 23. Officers elected: President MacLeland Vice president David Hanlin Secretary Joan Taylor Treasurer Gary Leland News Reporter Don Armitage. Maurice Deveson Agriculture Representative spoke on meeting conduct. A lunch ended the evening.

Mrs Lelond will visit Saskatoon Netherhill and Calgary before returning. The Hills visited Winnipeg. Linda visited Miniota with grandparents. Gordon Grey moves to Hamiota for winter. Geo Brown Jana Leanne visited Rollin and Jim Clegg families. Brenda Clegg stayed at Norman's in Bagot. 4 H met October 17 with pie and coffee fundraiser worth 24 dollars. Girls make posters for UCW Bazaar December 10. Mrs Clegg and Mrs Wes Leland toured Brandon. Lois Lelond returned home.

Mrs E Hyndman Farewell Noted By Community Friends

A gathering at Mrs R G Mitchells home featured a farewell for Mrs E Hyndman. Attendees included Mrs R Clegg who pinned a rose corsage while Mrs Doug las read the address. The event marked the Hyndman and Boss family as longtime community names and wished the family success in Virden, Arrow River, and future schooling.

Miniota U C W Meet At Mrs Wes Leland Home

The afternoon Unit of the U C W met at Mrs Wes Leland’s home on Thursday November 18 with 9 members and 1 visitor. Mrs Leland led worship themed A Deeper Note Than Victory. Mrs Hill and Mrs Rowan led Trinidad study and showed a filmstrip with music. Donations of food and cash were promised for Christmas Boxes. The January meeting will be at Mrs Reynolds’s home. Lunch was served by hostess Mrs Wes Leland.
