Miniota Couple Celebrate 50th Wedding Anniversary
Mr and Mrs J W Horner celebrated their Golden Wedding November 10 with 92 neighbors and friends at the Horner home in Miniota. They were married November 12 1912 by Rev 8 D Thomas in Miniota. They have one daughter four sons and 12 grandchildren. Out of town guests came from Winnipeg Virden Brandon Calgary and more.

The Miniota Beef Calf Club met at R. G. Mitchell home on November 12 with 20 members and one visitor. Roll call with the Pledge noted. A November 9 dance was a success. Rope halters were made by members. Next meeting set for January 7.

Miniota U C W Meet Combines Units Next Month
Mrs Chas Ellerington presided at the afternoon unit meeting in the church class. Mrs A M Hanlin led worship with lessons from the New English Bible. Receipts from the bazaar totaled 235 03 with thanks sent to the board of Stewarts. The two units will join for the December 18 meeting at eight o clock. The annual meeting is set for January 8 with due fees. Tea was served by Mrs A McLean.

Crandall Volleyball Wins Zone 10 Finals In Manitoba
Crandall girls, spurred by the Kenton Cheerleaders, win Zone 10 finals at Birtle in a round robin contest. Oak Lake Fort La Bosse and Binscorth Pelly Trail division competes. Crandall advances to Winnipeg for the Provincial Championship.

Miniota-Isabella Pastor al Charge Attends School of Evangelism
Twenty three people from the Miniota-Isabella charge attended the School of Evangelism held at First United Church in Brandon on November 14 and 15. Carloads traveled from Miniota and Brandon College with Rev J G Sloan and Mrs Rowan in attendance both days. Speakers included Dr Harry Denman and Rev Pieter De Jong as part of the Manitoba Saskatchewan conference event.

The United Church Women held their annual meeting in the church parlour on Wednesday afternoon November 14 as officers were re elected. Details include President Mrs L Ruddist and other posts, with committee heads and group leaders listed. The supply report shows extensive charitable work to Save the Children Gimli Fresh Air Camp Osborne Home and local causes. A Greece thank you note is noted and the group continues collecting old nylons for parcels.
