U C W Meet Reports November Practices and Plans
The U C W general meeting at United Church on November 6 involved 15 members with Mrs. L Reynolds presiding and Mrs. J Sloan leading worship. A panel including Mrs. Reynolds Mrs. Rowan and Mrs. Taylor discussed Christian Education while Mrs. Long briefed on a district rally at Decker. A clothing drive for overseas and local relief was announced with donations to Prairie View Lodge and $100 to the local Board of Stewards. Christmas meetings are planned for December 18 at 8 p.m.

Beef cattle short course planned for Western Manitoba
Arrangements set for a beef cattle short course in Western Manitoba during the last week of November with meetings in Virden on November 28 and Hamiota on November 29. Sessions in Hamiota begin at 10 00 a m and 1 p m with speakers Dr E Stringham Bill Munro and Joe Jeanneau. The focus is feeder cattle and decisions on buying feeding and selling. A district weed control board regional meeting in Brandon was also noted.
