The Building Projects Committee approved the Notice of Intent to Build for Birdtail River School Division. Plans include new facilities at Hamiota and Birtle with added classrooms labs and a library centre plus gym space and potential renovations. A unitary division referendum could alter funding and structure.

Hi Ladies. Christmas cakes are handy for holiday hospitality and should be made now to avoid a rush. Store for about six weeks to improve flavor. Preserve, dampen, and prepare fruit with flour to prevent sinking. Smooth the top before baking for easier icing. Wrap and age dark fruit cakes, blanch almonds, and refrigerate or freeze as needed. Funeral services were held for Charlotte Marjorie McKenzie 59 at Miniota United Church following a brief illness. Born July 18 1908 in Moosomin Saskatchewan she grew up there and later moved to Elkhorn Manitoba. She married Wes McKenzie January 1 1940 and lived in Miniota. she was active in the United Church Women 4H and had two sons Ronald and Robert with several sisters and brothers surviving along with pallbearers named in the notice.
