Curriculum Councils Shape Manitoba School Programs
Education Minister Hon George John Sor announces a new phase in curriculum development in Manitoba. Provincial professional councils will assess kindergarten to grade 12 programs, broaden liaision with post secondary education, and consult teachers administrators and educators. Plans include non graded education, altered university requirements, and expanded post secondary opportunities. Reports from councils are due within two years.

Birdtail River graduation exercises honor 77 graduates
Around 400 people attended Birdtail River School Division No. 38 graduation in Kenton Collegiate Auditorium on Saturday November 4. Alexander Gerrard of Strathclair led with top marks and multiple awards while Edith Poole Bonnie Mundell Allyson Gunson and Janice Robison won several honors. The event featured the division crest stage decorations and remarks from Chairman John Rankin and guest speaker F W Coward with thanks to trustees staff and the Kenton Women’s Institute.

Grade XII Pass Rates Released By Board Manitoba
Manitoba's high school examination board released pass rates for 46 602 grade 12 papers in June. University entrance saw 70.68 percent pass, general courses 76.19 percent. university entrance papers totaled 38 787 versus 41 047 last year, general courses 7 815 versus 5 056. Language and subject results show Latin 82.3, German 76.73, Francais 81.85, geography 83.06, chemistry 85.41, math 82. drama and poetry led general courses at 86.31, prose 85.08, business law 83.89. There were 187 examination centres in Manitoba and 102.

Manitoba Honored For Staging Pan Am Games
Manitoba is praised for staging the Pan American games with a national plaque awarded by the Canadian Tourist Association. Hon. Sterling Lyon accepted the honor at the Marlborough Hotel from Dalton Waller, as CTA officials lauded Manitoba’s planning, energy, hospitality, and support for contestants and visitors in 1967.
