Annual Meeting Notes From Minieta WJ Discuss Library Moves
The Minieta WJ held its annual meeting with 15 members present and E A Hamlin presiding. The library committee announced the library moved to the Herald office and book exchanges occur Mondays and Saturdays after noon. Miss E Sazaras was named librarian through year end. Financial balance reported at 301.37 dollars. Directors named include Mesdames Hanlin Bonner Oliver Chalmers Forsyth Long Grant Rollins Mossop and S Sararas with Mrs Hodnett as Honorary. Dr R K Chalmers to address district ladies on Cancer Education this Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the Daughters of England hall.

Hazen Chalmers spent Sunday with friends in Franklin. Mr and Mrs G Rowan and Patricia visited in town on Friday last. The fall assizes will open on Tuesday November 22 at Minnedosa.

Fire destroys Haney residence and Bissett granary
A blaze consumed the residence of T. Haney at Uno and a granary owned by A. Bissett, causing extensive material loss. Firefighters fought the flames but the structures were largely destroyed. No injuries are reported.
