CGIT Re organizes Miniota Group Meeting
The Miniota CGIT group reorganized at the United Church basement on October 8 1969. Leaders for the coming year are Mrs K Armitage Mrs K Leland and Mrs J Stowe. Officers include President Pat Taylor Vice President Debbie Richardson Secretary Carol Armitage Treasurer Janet Hanlin News reporter Linda Stewart. Twenty two girls attended.

J Russell Lynch 93 Dies. Miniota Obituary
Funeral services for J Russell Lynch 93 of Miniota were held at Miniota United Church with Rev James Maxwell officiating. He was born May 15 1876 in Kent County Ontario and lived in Arrow River before moving to Miniota, and Brandon in 1961. He served as reeve of Miniota 1931 49 and was active in church, schools, sport and local agencies. He married Catherine Shaw in 1906 and was predeceased by wife and daughter. He leaves a daughter Elva Spalding two grandchildren and a sister Rose Baldwin.

U C W Meeting Held in Miniota
The October U C W meeting gathered twelve members at Mrs. Al Armitage's home on October 16 at two o'clock. Reports were given by the treasurer and manse and sunshine chair Ruth Leland, a Board of Women note on redirected funds was read, CGIT girls requested chairs painting approval, carpeting for church steps was debated, and a talk on Outreach duties was shared by Marge and Rae Armitage. A lunch followed. next meeting scheduled for November 20 at Mrs. Ruth Lelonds.

Death notice for Francis Bohrn of Brandon and Miniota
Francis Bohrn, born in Austria in 1888, died in Brandon on Friday October 24 after moving from the Miniota district following a 1957 tractor accident. Survived by two sons Alfred and Max, a daughter Anniebelle Lapointe, and 14 grandchildren with 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at St Augustines Church and Brockie Donovan Chapel, interment in Brandon Cemetery.
