Campaign success aids Blind in Manitoba district
The annual campaign by the Manitoba Division of CMIB, supported by the W.I., raised 124.95. Fourteen blocks were canvassed by volunteers including Mrs. John Dickie and Mrs. Vern Rollo. Canvass kits were prepared by Mrs. G. Long and Mrs. Allan Armitage, with Mrs. Chas. Armitage coordinating canvassers and kit distribution.
A C W Meeting Held at Regina On Oct 20
Six A C W members traveled to Regina on October 20 to hold their meeting at Mrs Pilling s home. Mrs Wilkes and her baby Angela visited. Before dinner Mr Pilling guided the group through St Matthew s church. Sister Jacqueline of St Chad s Regina entertained them during a lovely dinner and plans were made for a bazaar on November 28 in the Anglican Church basement.

Miniota 4 H club held an organizing meeting on October 9 at Miniota Junior High. Leaders named for the year are Mrs. Draper, Thompson, Wadham, Goodwin, and Sheane. Winter Worship Schedule and Church Leadership Changes
The Worship Committee of Birtle Miniota United Church Wider Parish sets a new worship rota with services at Isabella and Miniota at 10:00 am and Beulah and Birtle at 11:00 am beginning October 26. The Christian Education Committee plans a November 14 teacher training at the Birtle U C building from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm led by Rev. Bruce Gunn and Miss Betty McColgan. A parish meeting is scheduled for October 30 at Beulah U C. The minister team assigns roles: Bob Kayes focuses on Youth work and pastor calls in Miniota Isabella and surrounding areas. Jim Maxwell handles pastoral visiting in Birtle, Isabella, Beulah, Arrow River and hospital visits at Birtle, Hamiota, Verden.

The Hamiota Hospital District No. 7A Ladies Aid met in the community room on Friday October 24. Mrs Wm Hedley presided with eight districts represented. They reported Jam and jelly donations for the hospital pantry. Bank balance 1917.20. New caretaker Mr Ab Cochran. Currah resigned. Twenty new candy stripers. beds and over bed tables ordered. Hospital to test babies for deafness. Admissions: 75, treated 84, 8 major operations, 18 minor, 202 outpatients. 7 blood bottles used. Delegates chosen for hospital conference November 20–21 at Fort Garry Hotel. Blood donors clinic planned for November 13 in the elementary, goal 300 bottles. 475 bottles used since 1966. Nominating committee formed for 1970–71 officers. Meeting closed with Mizpah Benediction.
