Death Notice for Harry Reid of Brandon Manitoba

The sudden death of Harry Reid of 524 12th Street Brandon occurred Sunday morning April 23 at his brother-in-law H Stewart's home in Foxwarren. Reid, a 1900 immigrant from Ontario, lived in Brandon since 1948 after farming in Teabella and Carberry, active in Rural Municipality of Miniota council for twelve years. He married Tilda Stewart in 1912 and had two sons Claude and Rae, plus three grandchildren. Funeral was held April 25 at Clark Leatherdale's with Rev. Berridge officiating. burial in West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were nephews Tom Stewart, Bob Stewart, Gordon Stewart, Lloyd Evans, Vance Stewart and Elwood McDonald. honorary pallbearers listed.

Birdtail River School Division sets eligibility rules for a Hamida meet on May 20 1961. Competitors must be registered students under 20 as of Sept 1 1960 and accompanied by a supervisor. Entry closes May 13 1961 with 25 cent per competitor and team entries limited by class and events.

The Victoria Day Tournament will be held in Kenton on May 22 1961 with softball and baseball divisions for school teams in the Birdtail Rivers School Division. Entries must be signed by a teacher and mailed by May 13 1961, players limited by age and registration, gate receipts split with winners, and local duties outlined for the host school. Restrictions include one team per school, no transfers, and supervisor oversight.
