Manitoba Adopts Five Percent Revenue Tax June First

Legislature strikes 13 member probe into auto insurance

A special 13 member Legislative committee was formed to thoroughly examine Manitoba automobile insurance costs. Provincial treasurer Hon Gurney Evans said the inquiry will review rate variations and recent increases to assess justification and safeguard public interests. The plan includes evaluating a government sponsored insurance mid-term option.

Birdtail River School Board holds meeting at Shoal Lake

The Birdtail River School Division No 38 board met at Shoal Lake at 8 p m on Friday April 21 1967 with Trustees Rankin Stimpson Fulton Selby Rapley Randell and Clark and 35-member delegation from Shoal Lake. Topics included correspondence on education grants and equipment needs and a plan to transport the Drama Club to Winnipeg. Motions adopted include approving the April 18 1957 minutes and adjourning to April 24.

The list covers dresses suits coats blouses sweaters under shirts pajamas combinations and other garments sized to specific children s standards and includes trousers jeans slacks undershorts outer shorts hats gloves and footwear with size and style limits as detailed in the definitions.

Education minister grants teacher grants for divisions

Education minister Hon. Single-district divisions receive full foundation program benefits, while multi-district divisions gain from teacher grants and the school tax rebate to help retain staff.
