Birdtail River School Division 38 Holds Feb 26 Regular Board Meeting

Board of Trustees of Birdtail River School Division No 38 met at Shoal Lake on February 26 1970 at 7 00 p m. Minutes from Feb 12 were adopted and correspondence reviewed including transport matters and education cost concerns. Proposals approved include van driver appointment for Route 509A and retroactive transportation allowance for G Bockstael, progress payment No 7 on the St Lazare addition, and adjournment to March 12 1970 at 8 00 p m.

Park Residence News Highlights and Visits

Mrs Campbell spent last week visiting relatives in Winnipeg. Mr and Mrs Mitchell of Brookdale visited with their aunt Mrs Arthur on Sunday. Mrs Brandon visited with her sister Mrs Henderson last week. Mrs Barnes spent the past five weeks with her family in Winnipeg returning on Thursday. Sympathy is extended to the family of the late Mrs Cormack who passed away here last. Mr and Mrs Delbridge visited with their son in law and daughter Mr and Mrs Lints and family at Decker on Sunday. Mrs Delbridge and Mrs Schacht called on Mr Drake Saturday for his 86th birthday. An enjoyable half hour was spent Sunday evening listening to songs sung by a group from Saskatchewan. Friends of Mr Daum. Mr and Mrs Harry Gardham Marilyn Lori Frank and Rody. Mr George Gardham Bill and Elaine, and Mrs Ken Mitchell of Arrow River and Mrs Falloon of Foxwarren visited with their mother Mrs Gardham.

United Church asks one day’s pay for overseas aid

The United Church of Canada asks members to give one day’s pay this month to fund self help and aid projects in developing regions. Last year they donated over 1.6 million dollars, with more than 400 thousand for Canal relief to aid Biafra and emergency supplies. The campaign emphasizes training, schools, health programs, family planning, and food preservation to enable long term self sufficiency.
