OF MANY THINGS by Ambrose Hills in Manitoba publishing
The piece traces Manitoba publishing from the National Home Monthly to later magazines and Free Press work. It argues local weekly papers rely on ads, face competition from outside outlets, and call for regulatory reform to level ground with electronic media and out of province publishers. It urges Canada Council support be aligned with prairie papers.
