The R M of Miniofa Council held a special session in 1962 with Reeve H S Hyndman presiding to review offers from Kane Equipment and Powell Equipment for a new tractor. The bids included trade credits and various winches and cable dozer parts. decision to purchase a D7 Series Diesel Tractor from Powell was considered with a price around 20 000 plus trade in. The meeting also covered tax sale purchases, weed meetings, and hospital district matters with the Ladies Aid report.

Mr Mike Kostenuk spent the weekend in Toronto visiting his daughters. Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Les Bryant on the birth of twin girls in Hamiota Hospital on February 20. District members competed in bonspiels at Two Creeks and Isabella last week. The Miniota U C W general meeting is Thursday March 1 at 8 p m in the church classroom. Royal Bank staff spent the weekend in Brandon for the annual Royal Bank Bonspiel. The Miniota Merry Stitchers had a very busy month. A rink with skip Jean Montgomery third Barbara Craig second Mona Morton lead Linda Good won and attended the Elkhorn 4H Bonspiel. The girls enjoyed a skating party hosted by the Beulah Sewing Club with hot chocolate and hot dogs. The Merry Stitchers took a chorus to the 4H Amateur at Hamiota. Dianne Williams and Shona Leland sang solos with Dianne winning third in the Senior division. Congratulations Dianne. The girls expect a visit from Miss English this Friday February 23 to review work and offer advice for better results.
