Local shop Hodnett Store announces daily closing time of seven oclock each evening except Saturdays. No further details provided about Sundays or holiday hours.
Local residents and visitors are noted with arrivals on trains and brief visits. Names include Sheriff Henderson Brandon, W C Vincent Winnipeg, July Weldon, Miss Gladys Pryce, Miss Ethel Morris, Mrs R Thompson family, Bert Bearns, W Preston Beulah, Wm Fergusson, S Shier Portage la Prairie, N S Ferris Souris, Andrew Ferris Wynona, Mr and Mrs Hepburn, A Hepburn Melville, and others. Also announced are Miniota Sports on July 22, banking change to Northern Crown Bank, and holiday plans for a Sunday School picnic with fundraising.
The Miniota Sunday School plans a basket picnic at Happyland on Friday June 26. Transport and games are arranged with volunteers for river safety, baseball matches Miniota vs Blairs and intergenerational events. Tea serves 5.30 to 6.30 and children enter free while adults pay twenty five cents.
Thomas King Cecil King and John Evans pleaded before Judge Cumberland at Brandon charged with grain stealing. The judge found all guilty with Thomas King to nine months and Cecil King Evans and two months each with hard labor. Corroborating witnesses testified to nights watching the granary and loading grain.
The agency of the Deering Harvesting Company has been transferred to Mr. John Parker who is now the accredited agent of the company.
