Golden Boys to Hold Meeting in Brandon
The 2nd Annual Convention of the Manitoba Travel and Convention Association will be held in Brandon next Thursday. A Director's Luncheon at 12:00 noon and the Annual Business Meeting at 2:00 PM will convene at the Prince Edward Hotel with elections to the 1961 62 Board of Directors and officers. The evening program includes the Manitoba Feed Fest at 4:00 PM, with the Curling Rink venue hosting music by the US Paris Kentucky Band and top entertainers. Awards to 12 Manitobans will be presented by Lt Governor Errick F. Willis.

Grand Valley Campground Opens Near Brandon
The 70 acre Grand Valley campground along the Trans Canada highway near Brandon opens June 17 with 11 am ceremony led by Hon. Walter Dinsdale and honors by Hon. C. H. Witney. The site hosts 72 tents and trailers, a wading pool, playground, washrooms, and a central building with fireplace. Camping is limited to one week at 50 cents per night amid a network of Manitoba recreation sites.

The second annual inter provincial 4-H Public Speaking competition sponsored by CJGX Yorkton was held at the Gladstone Inn with twelve speakers from Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Gail Graham of Virden won first with Ounces of Prevention in Posture, Greg McLenan placed second on Watch Out For Farm Animals, and Carol Cottrell was third on Conservation of Water.
